[165] Vertunt crateras aenos is from Enn., according to Serv. Heyne explains it of tilting the craters into the cups: but it seems more likely that the craters themselves were used as drinking cups, as in Il. 8. 232 we have πίνοντες κρητῆρας ἐπιστεφέας οἴνοιο, unless this is to be understood loosely.
