Ἀρκεσίλεω εὐεργεσίαι. In iii. 13 H. mentions the submission of Cyrene, but lays stress on the inadequate tribute sent. The story here, though not absolutely inconsistent, is curiously different in tone; H. has not harmonized his two sources, and Cyrenaic tradition clearly slurred over the fact of submission to Persia (cf. 160. 4 n.).
