H. conceives the mariners as observing the same seasons as at home; there would be two harvests. But if the statement is a fact at all, it is obvious that the sowing would be determined on other grounds than a Mediterranean calendar. Cf. for these harvests on the way, the plans of Eudoxus for the same circumnavigation (Strabo 100).
