[4-7] Antioch., Pol. l. l.: Ἀντίοχος — παραγενόμενος εἰς τὰς Σάρδεις ἀπὸ τῆς προρρηθείσης στρατείας, L. c. 19, 7, διεπέμπετο συνεχῶς πρὸς Προυσίαν παρακαλῶν [p. 200] αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν σφετέραν συμμαχίαν, den letzten Satz hat L. § 4—7 anders gewendet und zum Theil Antiochus in den Mund gelegt, was bei Pol. Gedanke des Prusias ist; ebenso frei ist der Brief Scipios § 8 behandelt. circa se er., s. zu 1.17.2; ib. 25, 11; 2, 43, 6: quantum in se fuit; 7, 37, 3; 30, 30, 1; c. 24, 5 heisst es regelmässig circa eum erant; anders ist 29.1.2; 27.15.15, vgl. 7.32.9. Prusias, s. 32.34; 33.30, scheint erst jetzt die von den Römern drohende Gefahr erkannt zu haben. transit., durch die Flotte schon ausgeführt, von dem Landheere zu erwarten. increp., schalt auf, s. 2.65.4; 7.17.5; 4 u. a. omnia r., vgl. 21.44.5; Sall. I. 81, 1. usquam orb. terr., ist eine ungewöhnliche Verbindung, ähnlich 40.12.5: nusquam gentium; Iust. 3, 3, 9: usquam terrarum, vgl. L. 39.54.8: quo terrarum; der gewöhnliche Ausdruck, der auch an. u. St. vermuthet wird, folgt § 10; es könnte auch orbis unächt sein. Phil. Nab., s. 35.35.7. expagn., 25.28.7. ut quisq. etc., n.: so werde ihn zunächst das Feuer ergreifen und dieses so über alle u. s. w. proxim. ab scheint sich sonst nicht bei L. zu finden, doch s. Cic. Or. 64, 217: proximus a postremo; Colum. 1, 6, 8: proxume alter ab altero; Plin. Epp. 7, 20, 6; Curt. 6, 43, 28 u. a. grad. fore, es würde ein (der nächste, oder: nur ein) Schritt sein, vgl. gradum facere 6, 35, 2; ib. 42, 2. volunt., 21.40.4; das Reich des Eumenes lag vor dem des Prusias und hätte ihm Schutz gewähren können.
