εἴπερ κτἑ.: the leading idea of the pred. lies in the participle.

τί οὖν δή: inquires what is to follow from the admission of the statement.

τὴν πειθώ: proleptic.

ἥτις ποτ᾽ ἐστιν: but ἣν οἶμαι is used below, according to the rule that ὅστις is required after a negative, while it may occur—though ὅς is regular—with a positive. Cf. 447 d, and see Morris on Thuc. i. 136. 4.—

ἣν σὺ λέγεις: indispensable addition to ἥτις. On περὶ ὧντινων, see on 451 d.

τοῦ ἕνεκα δή: an example of the ‘rhetorical question’ which Demosthenes uses to great advantage. Rid. § 325 cites also from Gorgias 457 e, 458 a, 487 b.
