ζηλωτόν: enviable. By an easy shift, the personal idea is transferred to the action itself.

εὐφήμει (fave lingua): says Socrates, because the denial of all moral principles implied in the words of Polus seems to him like a sin against divinity. Cf. Prot. 330 d.

τῶν: the art. with incorporated antec. is Platonic. Kr. 51, 12, N.

δικαίως: is slipped in unfairly by Polus. Cf. 466 a.
