μιμητήν: imitation is not to be thought of, for immoral action with a correct moral feeling is impossible. Hence the similarity must be original (αὐτοφυῶς).

φιλίαν τῷ δήμῳ: substantives involving action, either physical or mental, sometimes take the construction of their corresponding adjs. or verbs. Cf. 522 d βοήθεια ἑαυτῷ, Apol. 30 a τὴν τῷ θεῷ ὑπηρεσίαν. H. 765 a.

καὶ ναὶ μὰ Δία τῷ Πυριλάμπους: see on 481 d.

πολιτικὸς εἶναι: since these words would be understood if not present, the special insertion of them can only serve to emphasize the identity of wish and result.
