τὴν ῥητορικήν: the position is very emphatic. For examples of the rel. clause preceding the antecedent, see Kr. 51, 11.
συμβουλεύων: connected in construction with the last words of Socrates, as is frequently the case in answers. Cf. 451 d ὀρθῶς γε λέγων σύ, 473 b ἀληθῆ γε οἰόμενος ἴσως. See Kr. 56, 8, 7.
τοιοῦτον: has its correlative in οὗ, which, like other relative adverbs, often stands for a prepositional phrase, as here equiv. to ἐν ᾧ. Frequently we find τὶ added to τοιοῦτον. The sense of τοιοῦτον is made clear by the context.
