κήδεσθαι: implies personal interest in the matter.

ὥσπερ νῦν δὴ ἔλεγον: is to be taken with the following clause, ἀναθέμενος.

φῂς γὰρ δήπου: by quoting his own vaunting words against him, Socrates compels Polus also to adopt the dialectic form.

δήπου: throws a tinge of irony into the question.
