τὰ δέ: without a preceding τὰ μέν, to complete and correct the statement. See Kr. 50, 1, 12.
ἐκ τῶν δημιουργῶν: “in accordance with the architects,” instead of the advice of the architects. Other striking examples of such compression are Prot. 358 c οὐδ᾽ ἔστι τοῦτο ἐν ἀνθρώπου φύσει, ἐπὶ ἃ οἴεται κακὰ εἶναι ἐθέλειν ἰέναι ἀντὶ τῶν ἀγαθῶν, Xen. Cyr. iii. 3. 41 χώραν ἔχετε οὐδὲν ἧττον ἔντιμον τῶν πρωτοστατῶν for τῆς τῶν πρωτοστατῶν.
λέγεται ταῦτα κτἑ.: this admission of Socrates seems to Gorgias to confirm his assumption, and to imply that Socrates was not in earnest in his opposition. At the death of Themistocles, Socrates was about four years old.
