ὡς ἄτοπος εἶ κτἑ.: rudeness instead of response.δημηγόρος: see on 482 c.
τοιγάρτοι: this strong inferential particle (cf. 471 c) serves to compel Callicles, who would gladly have evaded the answer by the general reproach ὡς ἄτοπος εἶ, to a definite answer, by reference to 487 a, b.
ἀνδρεῖος: with an allusion to 491 b. It is contrasted with ἐκπλαγῆναι, because, besides φρόνησις, bravery is the only virtue recognized by Callicles as necessary for a statesman. He must, therefore, display this quality himself.
