[423] It is best to put a comma only after “μάρτυρος”, since the sense is continuous: ‘to whom Zeus is witness, and for whom it is impiety to devise evil to one another,’ = ‘who in the sight of “Ζεὺς ἱκετήσιος” are bound to be at peace with each other.’
