[14] πατρὸς θώκῳ. In the place of assembly (cp. Od.8. 6; Il.18. 504) the “γέροντες” sit upon seats of stone, “ἱερῷ ἐνὶ κύκλῳ”. Telemachus, as son of the king, takes his father's seat, and the elders ‘make way’ for him (cp. Od.17. 61-63; 20. 144-146).
