[536] ‘None of the comrades of Atrides survived, nor one of Aegisthus' men.’ The “λόχος” and “ἕταροι” fell to a man. The circumstances here related are inconsistent with the later form of the story in Od.11. 405 foll.; 24. 97, where Clytaemnestra plays so important a part. The form of the story adopted by the tragedians made the bath-room the scene of the murder.
