Lag′ging.
1. (Steam-engine.) The non-conducting jacket or clothing of a steam-boiler or cylinder, to prevent radiation of heat. Cleading, deading, sheathing, clothing.
2. (Carpentry.) Narrow planks extending from one rib to another in the centering of arches and forming the board covering upon which the courses of voussoirs are laid.
