Tack′le-hook.

The hook by which a tackle is connected to an object to be hoisted.

The example is provided with a [2481] mousing device B having an eye surrounding the shank of the hook, on which it has a motion both sideways and upward. An eye at the other end engages over the point of the hook, where it is held by a retractile spring-catch.
