Lim′ber-chest.

The ammunition or tool chest belonging to the limber of an artillery-carriage of any description. Those of the gun-carriage and caisson are fitted up as ammunition-chests, while those of the forge and battery wagon contain respectively tools and stores for blacksmiths', and for carriagemakers' and saddlers' use.
