Pump-head.

An arrangement for causing all the water raised by a chain-pump to be directed into the discharge-spout instead of permitting a part to be thrown off by centrifugal force. In the figure, a represents the pump-head; b, driving-pulley; c, pinion driving the spurwheel d, around the axis of which the chain passes.
