Pump-lamp.

One having a pump employed for forcing up oil to the wick. Used in that class of lamps in which the reservoir is too distant to permit the oil to be drawn up by capillary attraction. It may be operated by hand or by clock-work mechanism, as in the Carcel lamp. See mechanical lamp.
