Scale′board.

1. A thin veneer of wood, used for covering the surfaces of wooden articles of furniture; as backing for pictures and looking-glasses, for making wooden boxes, and for very many other purposes.


2. (Printing.) A thin slip of wood, used for extending pages of type to the proper length, filling out matter, etc. See reglet.
