Po-ta′to-plant′er.
(Husbandry.) An implement for dropping potatoes into a furrow and covering them. There are many kinds. The example has an endless traversing belt with a series of pockets which pass under a striker to remove superfluous sets, and open to drop their sets into the planting share, which precedes the covering shares and the roller, which acts as a driving-wheel.
