Land-roll′er.

One for leveling ground and mashing clods in getting land into tilth for crops. In the example, the rollers are so coupled together that they may travel in different planes, and are left free to pass over obstructions independently. The roller in two parts is turned readily, as one may revolve in one direction and the other in the other direction in turning short at the end of a bout.

Fig. 2798 is a roller with circumferential ridges to break clods, and has a seeding device at the rear.
