Pump-bob.

A species of bell-crank lever employed for converting the rotary motion of a steamengine into reciprocating motion for operating a pump-piston. In the illustration, the pitman is connected to a crank-pin on the pumping-wheel; the braces, standard, and bed-piece of the bob are mounted on a rock-shaft journaled, and supported [1828]
