Photography.) An instrument for enlarging by sunlight. Usually for obtaining an enlarged positive from a negative on glass. The instrument is sometimes used in connection with a heliostat, which keeps the condensing lens directed to the sun. The board to receive the paper for the enlarged picture is placed in such of the grooves in the box D as may be adapted to the required enlargement. See also Fig. 3676, page 1681.
