Sash-saw.

1. A mill-saw strained in a gate, or sash, as it is sometimes called, from the resemblance of its stiles and rails to the frame of a window-sash.

2. A particular size of tenon-saw used in making window-sash is known as a sash-saw. It is backed with brass instead of iron, and has 13 teeth to the inch. The tenon-saw has 8 teeth to the inch.
