Thread-oil′er.

To lubricate the thread and facilitate its passage through the goods or leather. It is placed upon the spool-wire of the machine, and secured by tightening the set-screw c in the oiler, which has a wire attached to support the screw, as shown in the cut. The button a has a notch at its lower end, by which the thread is conducted through the cup.
