Tat′ting-shut′tle.

A small shuttle used in tatting.

Fig. 6228 has a sheathed spool with a spring at each end. A tatting-hook at one end of the shuttle may be protruded or sheathed at pleasure.

The shuttle (Fig. 6229) has a pin b which is protracted by a thumb-piece to pass a thread through a loop, and is retracted by a spring.
