Scaf′fold-brack′et.

An implement to form a footing for a board to support a person in roofing. In the example, the tang of the lower plate is pushed up beneath the course of shingles, and its claws engage the rafter. The upper pivoted claw-plate is brought down upon the shingles by the vibration of the lever.
