Swan's-down.


Fabric.) a. A trimming in which the fine, soft feathers of the swan and other aquatic birds are set with the quill end in the meshes of the goods, so as to make the down as a nap upon the backing of fabric.

b. A fine, soft, thick woolen cloth, made in imitation of swan's-down, a long nap being raised upon the surface.
