Wheat-hull′er.

A machine for decorticating wheat.

In the illustration (Fig. 7169), the rough-surfaced cone rotates reversely in the rotating conical screening-cylinder. The grain to be hulled or scoured is fed in between the core and cylinder. The cleanings are drawn by the forced current of air created by the suction-fan, while the clean grain is discharged by the endless screw.

It resembles in a degree the hominy-machine, being employed to take the skin from the grain.
