A floor covering of wooden slats or veneers on a flexible fabric, which may be rolled like a carpet. In the example, narrow strips of different kinds of wood are glued upon cloth. After the glue is dry, the surface of the wood is planed down and finished. Wainscoting is made in a similar manner.
