Shoe-brush.

Shoe-brushes formerly were always employed in pairs,—a hard brush for removing the dirt and polishing, and a softer one for spreading the [2160] blacking. It is now usual to unite the two, a small circular soft brush being attached to the back of the hard brush, which is frequently provided with a handle. The soft brush is sometimes cylindrical and turns on pivots.
