Switch-board.

An aggregation of switches upon one base, so that any instrument in an office may be connected with any wire or any battery, or cut out altogether.

Fig 6132 represents a switchboard made of wooden strips (non-conducting) and metallic strips (conducting), so joined in the shape of a frame as to bring the longitudinal metallic strips and the lateral metallic strips across each other for the purpose of making connections between them.

Telegraph-battery switch-board.

In Fig. 6133, the switch buttons are arranged in pairs corresponding to the number of batteries employed, including the buttons of each pole of a battery in one pair. The battery-pole and its button are connected by a wire.
