The acc. follows “χραίσμωσιν” on the analogy of “χραισμέω τινί τι, Η” 143 f., “ὣς ἄρα τοῖς οὔ τις δύναται χραισμῆσαι ὄλεθρον Λ 120, νήπιος, οὐδέ τί οἱ χραισμήσει λυγρὸν <*>῎λε-” “θρον Υ” 296.—“ὅτε . . . ἐφείω [ἐφῶ”, cf. “ἐρείομεν” v. 62]: this explains “ἆσσον ἰόντα”, cf. “ποτιδέγμενον” (awaiting) “αἰεὶ ι λυγρὴν ἀγγελίην, ὅτ̓ ἀποφθιμένοιο πύθηται Τ” 336 f.—For the thought, cf. vs. 588 ff., 15.16 ff., 164 ff.
