[149] πᾶς᾿ ἀγορὴ κινήθη: a return to v. 144.—Both comparisons are meant to depict the whole scene: the first (vs. 144-146) describes the sudden confusion with which the assembly dispersed; the second (vs. 147 -149), the uninterrupted rush in one direction, toward the ships.

ἀλαλητῷ: dat. of manner, in which sense a partic. is often used.
