[478] Διὶ κτλ”.: Agamemnon combines the majesty of Zeus with the grace of Ares. These characteristics of the gods seem known to the hearers from works of art. cf. 3.167 ff. Homeric comparisons of men with gods are generally indefinite, not specifying a particular feature.
