[285] πᾶσιν βροτοῖσν: lit. for all mortals, in the eyes of all men, cf.Δ 95, Ι 303, Ψ” 595.

ἐλέγχιστον: most disgraced, for its formation from “ἔλεγχος”, cf. “ἔχθιστος Α” 176; see § 22 b.

θέμεναι: make, cf. v. 319; see on 1.2.

μερόπεσσι: only here with “βροτοί”, cf. 1.250.
