ἐν νηυσὶ πεσόντες: marking the disorderly flight. This is a standing combination of expressions for motion and rest, cf. “ἐμβάλλω, ἐντίθημι”. No compounds of “εἰς” with “βάλλω, πίπτω, τίθημι”, are found in Homer. See on 1.245.
