Ἑλλήσποντος: the Hellespont in Homer includes also the neighboring waters.ἀγάρροος: with strong stream. It is called a “ποταμός” in Hdt. vii. 35. No current of the Mediterranean compares with that of the Hellespont. ἐντὸς ἐέργει: as v. 617.
