Pan′tile.

A tile curved to an ogee shape, so that the prominent edge of one is covered by the dependent edge of the next. The usual size is 14 1/2 × 10 inches, and they are laid with a 10-inch gage. 170 tiles cover 1 square, i. e. 10 × 10 = 100 square feet.
