Tongue-sup-port′.

A device on the tonguehounds of a wagon to keep the forward end of the tongue elevated and prevent its weight bearing on the necks of the horses.

In the example (Fig. 6524), it is a bar, the middle of which rests upon the coupling-rod, and its ends beneath the fore-axle and tongue respectively.
