Shaft′ing-hang′er.
A suspended bearing for a shaft. In the example, the body of the hanger is made hollow, and cores of different sizes are used in the space, so that one pattern may be used for several sizes of shafts. A self-oiling apparatus is combined with a ball-and-socket hanger, so as to bring the reservoir of oil close to the lower side of the [2130] shaft and at the same time in the center of the bearing.
