Rain-cham′ber.
(Metallurgy.) In the extraction of copper, a compartment into which spray is injected, and through which the smoke is compelled to pass, to remove poisonous vapors. Proposed by Sir Humphry Davy. See also Whelpley and Storer's patent, 1864.
