Saw-tooth′ing ma-chine′.

The machine (Fig. 4644) has a gate D reciprocated by an eccentric and pitman, and has at one end two plain shearingblades J J′, and at the other two toothing-blades K K′, secured to blocks attached to the gate and frame C, respectively. Two saws are cut from a sin- [2047] gle sheet at each operation, the projecting teeth of one corresponding to the interspaces of the other. The blades have a slight inclination, so that the cutting action is gradually effected. Adjustable gages are secured to the shearing and toothing ends of the gate, traveling down along with the cut plate or saw, and on the return stroke the work is released and sticking prevented.
