1. (Nautical.) a. A range of fakes of a cable or hawser. A fake is a single coil in a tier. b. Cable tier. A place below decks where the cable is coiled. c. A row or rank, as of vessels alongside a wharf, or moored alongside each other in a stream.
2. (Music.) A row of pipes in an organ.
