Roll′er-gin.

1. One in which the cotton is drawn away from the seed by pinching-rollers, in contradistinction to the saw-gin. See cotton-gin.


2. (Hoisting.) One provided with a roller on which the rope winds, and with a ratchet and pawl to sustain the weight.
