Tool-post.
(Lathe.) A device on the upper part of a slide-rest by which the cutter is held. In that shown (Fig. 6543), the end of the tool is inserted in the beveled slot and fixed at the required angle for cutting by the binding-screw a; it may be released or readjusted by a very slight movement of this screw.
