Top-block.
1. (Nautical.) A single ironbound hook-block; it hooks to an eye-bolt in the cap. The top pendants are rove through the topblocks when swaying up or lowering down the topmasts.
2. (Vehicle.) A projecting piece on which the bows of the carriage top rest when down. See Fig. 3971.
