Spoke-ta′pering ma-chine′.

One to taper the edge of the spoketen-on to fit the bevel heading of the mortise in the hub. It usually consists of a reciprocating chisel-cutter, moving in a right line, and an adjustable gage by which the spoke is presented at the required angle. See Foster's patent, August 8, 1865.
