189. Many verbs have more than one set of forms, of which only one is generally found in classic use:—
  1. lavō , lavāre or lavĕre, wash (see § 211. e).
  2. scateō , scatēre or scatĕre, gush forth.
  3. lūdificō , -āre, or lūdificor , -ārī, mock.
  4. fulgō , fulgĕre , or fulgeō , fulgēre, shine.
